- Manage day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure smooth functioning.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and keep equipment in good working condition.
- Ensure products meet quality standards through effective monitoring and evaluation processes.
Compliance and Safety
- Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a compliant and safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing plant operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Production Planning and Optimization
- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet inventory targets.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase output.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
Personnel Management
- Lead, coach, and develop plant staff to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and training to employees.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production requirements.
Maintenance and Reliability
- Oversee the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address equipment issues promptly.
Environmental Responsibility
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Implement programs to minimize waste and reduce the plant’s environmental impact.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics.
Budget and Cost Management
- Develop and manage the plant budget, including production costs, labor costs, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor and control expenses to stay within budgetary limits.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with senior management, employees, and suppliers.
- Prepare and present reports on plant performance, production status, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience 7+ years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for operating a plant.
- Strong understanding of business and management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
- Proficiency in manufacturing operations, project planning, cost control, and program management.
- Familiarity with safely and efficiently operating manufacturing equipment.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
- Proficient with software applications and computer technology.
