Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for leading 2nd shift manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role drives operational excellence through continuous improvement, KPI management, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration. The Production Manager will also lead the successful launch and ramp-up of new assembly lines while building a high-performing production team.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead 2nd shift production operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective execution of the daily production plan while meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) targets.
  • Lead the successful launch and ramp-up of new assembly lines, including staffing, training, equipment readiness, process validation, and achievement of production, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving productivity, optimizing labor utilization, and lowering Hours Per Unit (HPU) through Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Monitor production performance and KPIs, using data to identify gaps, prioritize opportunities, and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Lead structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for production, quality, equipment, and process issues while driving rapid resolution and preventing recurrence.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Product Development to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure effective shift execution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Development on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to improve product quality, manufacturability, and production efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, work instructions, and company procedures while maintaining a Safety First, Quality at the Source, Stop-and-Fix culture.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and production team members to build a high-performing culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead daily 2nd shift production meetings, communicate priorities and performance, and ensure effective shift handoffs and alignment across all shifts.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or EV operations; at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle repair, rework, or assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MES systems, and production tracking tools.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred but not required; equivalent experience accepted.
