Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer specializing in EOL/Test Process Equipment will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of the vehicle buy-off process. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, validate, and implement a robust testing system, contributing to the production of high-quality and reliable electric vehicles.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and Design EOL/Test Processes: Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to design, develop, and optimize end-of-line and testing processes for EV components and vehicles.
  • Ensure these processes meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Test Equipment Specification and Procurement: Define the requirements for EOL/test equipment, including hardware and software specifications.
  • Manage equipment vendors to identify, evaluate, and select appropriate testing equipment for implementation.
  • Ensure the schedule objectives have been met while providing testing in accordance with engineering requirements.
  • Process Validation and Integration: Validate new EOL/test processes and equipment, ensuring they align with product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Integrate new processes seamlessly into existing production lines, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and analyze EOL/test process performance, identifying opportunities for improvement in quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Implement corrective actions and drive process optimization initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish quality standards and test protocols. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality requirements and drive adherence to industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Provide technical support to resolve equipment malfunctions or process issues encountered during production. Work closely with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment reliability.
  • Issues Management: Identify, triage, track and resolve vehicle build concerns with the engineering team through various builds.
  • Training and Documentation: Develop comprehensive training materials and provide training to production operators and technicians on the proper use and maintenance of EOL/test equipment.
  • Ensure clear and detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and equipment specifications.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing EOL and test processes for electric vehicles or automotive components.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, automation systems, and quality control principles.
  • Familiarity with testing and validation standards for electric vehicles and automotive components
  • Proficiency in CAD software, PLC programming, data analysis tools, and statistical process control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • A passion for sustainable transportation and the drive to contribute to the growth of the electric vehicle industry.
