We are seeking a scrappy and entrepreneurial Growth & Business Development Lead (Partnerships) to help build and lead the commercial strategy for a new, high-growth business division at Harbinger. This role reports to the Vice President of Partnerships and is perfect for someone who seeks ownership, thrives in ambiguity, and is eager to build a “startup within a startup”.
You will be responsible for "wearing many hats," blending strategic go-to-market planning, hands-on business development, operational process-building, and relationship management. You will identify new markets, research and forge key partnerships, and lay the foundational processes to scale this new venture. This is a high-impact role requiring a balance of strategic thinking and relentless execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Go-to-Market & Product Strategy
- GTM Strategy: Develop and execute the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for the new division, identifying and segmenting key markets, customer profiles, and acquisition channels.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging customer needs.
- Product Alignment: Use market insights to collaborate with product and engineering teams, helping to shape product strategy, positioning, and messaging.
- Strategic Analysis: Build business cases and analytical models to support strategic decisions, resource allocation, and new initiatives.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Prospecting & Outreach: Identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities, including potential customers, channel partners, and strategic alliances.
- Partnership Development: Forge and nurture relationships with key partners to broaden market reach and create new, scalable growth loops.
- Industry Engagement: Act as a primary commercial contact for the division, representing Harbinger at conferences, industry events, and customer meetings.
Growth Operations & Sales Enablement
- Process Architecture: Design, build, and implement the foundational sales and business operations processes for the new division, including CRM workflows, reporting, and customer lifecycle management.
- Customer Experience: Arrange and host visitors, partners, and potential customers for tours of Harbinger's Garden Grove manufacturing facility.
- Sales Enablement: Support the preparation of compelling sales presentations, proposals, and other collateral required to engage prospects and close deals.
- Reporting & Analytics: Maintain accurate records of all sales and partnership activities in the CRM and establish KPIs to track growth, reporting on progress to leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in a high-growth environment, with a proven track record in business development, sales, GTM strategy, growth, or management consulting.
- Startup DNA: Highly self-motivated, "scrappy," and thrive working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
- Ownership Mentality: A "wear many hats" attitude with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, own projects from end-to-end, and drive measurable results.
- Relationship Driven: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a relationship-driven approach and the ability to forge trust with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to translate complex data and market insights into actionable recommendations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience launching a new product, business unit, or scaling a company from an early stage.
- Experience in the automotive, commercial vehicle, EV, or battery technology industries.
- MBA or master’s degree with a business or technical focus.
- Experience working with or developing dealer networks.
